Team Surrey

Team Surrey consists of Fraser Health Authority, Surrey RCMP, and Surrey Fire Services. Fraser Health Authority delivers publicly funded health services to communities from Burnaby to Boston Bar. The Surrey RCMP provides policing services to the City of Surrey, and Surrey Fire Service provides emergency response services to the City of Surrey.

For the Opioid Data Challenge (ODC), Team Surrey submitted their real-time alerting system which utilized data from existing first responder sources (i.e. Fire Services and RCMP) to capture suspected fatal and non-fatal overdoses by geolocation, time of overdose, alongside additional demographic details of the individual. This system can geofence different areas and thresholds are flexible based on the overdose epidemiology for the area.

You can learn more about Team Surrey’s innovative solution by downloading this presentation from the ODC Finalist Showcase and viewing the ODC infographic.
