Peel Public Health

Peel Public Health includes health experts, practitioners, researchers and changemakers working together to deliver programs, services and policies that support healthy communities.

For the Healthy Neighbourhoods Data Challenge (HNDC), Peel Public Health sourced data from available, reliable and timely sources to identify key built environment metrics related to Active Transportation, Food Environment, and Walkability in Mississauga neighbourhoods. Combined these metrics can be used to take a point-in-time assessment of the health promoting potential of a neighbourhood, while also enabling the long-term monitoring of changes to this potential.

You can learn more about Peel Public Health’s solution by reading the following blog post, downloading this presentation from the HNDC Finalist Showcase, and viewing the HNDC infographic.
