The Healthy Neighbourhoods Data Challenge
Local Logic is a location analysis company with a mission to build the most comprehensive understanding of cities to improve citizens’ quality of life.
For the Healthy Neighbourhoods Data Challenge (HNDC), Local Logic collected data that assessed how suitable a home location is for a person’s specific lifestyle preferences. The data collection was composed of thousands of open and commercial datasets, as well as datasets assembled by Local Logic themselves, and included metrics related to: Active Transportation, Air Quality, Food Environment, Green and Blue Spaces, and Walkability. These datasets showed connections between the built environment and healthy behaviours at both the neighbourhood level and at the level of individual street segments.
